Eagle Trans Shipping & Logistics is an international freight-forwarding company based in London, with a U.S. office in Hoboken, N.J. The company, founded in 1984 as a small customs-clearance business, now provides global logistics services from 23 offices located in 11 countries on five continents—and counting, the firm says.

In terms of services, Eagle offers single-mode and multi-modal logistics, covering road, rail, air, and water options, and it can accommodate partial or full loads as well as products ranging from the “smallest of micro chips to biggest of oil rigs.” The company currently handles in excess of 10,000 containers a month across 30-plus trade routes, encompassing more than 2.5 million metric tons of goods carried annually to over 50 ports on all major carriers, it says. Along with its logistics experience, Eagle offers customs-clearance expertise as well as dedicated and shared warehousing and distribution services.

Salith De Silva, the company’s country manager based in Hoboken, N.J., began his career in the shipping and recycling industries in 2005 and joined Eagle Trans Group in 2009. Since then, he has contributed to the company’s growth from its offices in New York, London, Dubai, and Singapore. In his current position, he focuses on developing commercial shipping and logistic strategies among the United States, the United Kingdom, Northern Europe, and Asia. “I look forward to confronting challenges faced by the recycling industry and resolving them from a shipping and logistics perspective for my clients, who are mainly the exporters,” he says.
